The 4th Stakeholders Meeting of the NatUR-W project took place on February 25, 2025, bringing together 18 members of the project’s stakeholders’ board. Participants included presidents of neighborhood associations, representatives appointed by the plenary, and members from key organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Lorca for its Heritage, Lorca Biciudad Association, the Irrigation Community, the Red Cross, CECLOR, and the Official School of Languages. Additionally, technicians from Singular Green and the Lorca City Council attended, with NBSCLIMATE moderating the session.
The meeting opened with a presentation on the latest project progress, where Singular Green and NBSCLIMATE technicians unveiled the final plans for the urban park and prison.
During the 2nd part of the meeting, a citizen science activity was carried out to promote environmental education. Participants attended a talk on urban biodiversity, its challenges, and measurement protocols. They were introduced to the Natusfera app, learning about its functionality and potential applications in Lorca. Attendees expressed great interest and a willingness to integrate the tool into local biodiversity monitoring efforts.
The 3rd part featured a guided tour of the project’s two main sites: the prison and the urban park. Participants explored the technical aspects of the project, including the air monitoring devices installed in the park, which will measure air quality changes before and after project completion.
After visiting the key project sites, attendees expressed their satisfaction and gained firsthand insights into the potential, opportunities, and challenges of the implemented actions.
